Some of My Favorite Places
Here are some great places I visited last year.
- Nelson New Zealand: Arts town with nice layout, right next to Abel Tasman wilderness some of the nicest hiking and beautiful scenery anywhere.
The seaside city of Granville, in Normandy, offers a truly French beach experience, with tides that stretch out nearly half a mile and bulots, those giant snails that the French love to eat so much.
Fairhope, Alabama here is a quintessential small town, with gardens all over the city and a tradition called a Jubilee, where sea creatures suddenly leap out of the ocean and the whole town descends on the beach to pick up shrimp, groupers, halibut, mussels, oysters and a bunch of other species.
Orroli, Sardinia, a town of 2700 residents and an amazing 35 of them are OVER 100! It’s the longevity capital of Europe, and it’s remote and in the middle of a wild island.
