Memories of the Coldest Place I’ve Ever Been: Winnipeg

Screen Shot 2017 01 11 at 10.23.55 AMOne thing that’s all the rage these days is to send out a simple question to a whole bunch of attention-hungry bloggers, like me.  I got a quick email asking me a simple question, what was my best and coldest winter season travel experience.

So I sent in some pithy words about my time in Winnipeg, which is certifiably the coldest place I’ve ever visited. I went there in February 2015.  The highlight of that trip was ice skating along the frigid Red River with a local woman who shared many stories of people who commute to the city on ice skates.

Then the Winnipeg Jets played a scrimmage on the river ice, and that evening, we watched some great bands play at the Voyageurs festival.

Here is the link to what other travel writers recommend for winter travel highlights. I’m in good company, we all can’t resist a free plug!
