August at Home, But Many Fall Trips Await!
I’m happy that I am not traveling in August because I have a great big list of trips for the fall. Each one is different, and each one I’m sure will provide some great memories, photos, and stories.
My next adventure will be to the Azores Islands and Portugal with my good buddy and traveling mate Paul Shoul. In mid-September, we will fly out of Boston, taking the short hop of just 2 1/2 hours to the island of San Miguel and then to Pico, a smaller island famous for whaling in the days of yore. The next stop will be Lisbon, and then we will drive a rental car down to the Algarve Region, to a resort perched on the edge of a cliff.
In October I will join my TBEX tribe again at their European travel bloggers conference, where I will be speaking about travel writing. I will visit some of the great destinations of Ireland during my weeklong trip there. It’s always fun to catch up with so many of these colleagues, and it will also be nice to meet a lot of Europe-based bloggers who I might know by name but not by face. It’s all good!
In November I’ll depart on the first Sunday to my second World Travel Market, a huge travel conference in London. This event is for travel professionals only, no consumers, so it’s a great place to walk the show and network with potential advertisers. Last year I enjoyed the show but this year I will be better prepared and hope to get some business GoNOMAD.
After the two-day show, I’ll take the train down to Devon and Cornwall for five days and walk along the coast in this beautiful region. Can’t wait!
