Greenfield and Turners Are the Up & Comers of the Valley
Greenfield is coming along very well, I read in a recent Recorder story by Ritchie Davis. He’s right, there’s a whole new movement up in that city, and when the people behind Amherst and Northampton Coffee set up shop, well gentrification is happening full speed ahead. I think it’s a good thing, and today I visited the cafe that just opened a few weeks ago.
The equipment they use is state of the art, and as shiny as a new BMW. A thick embossed piece of steel had an Italian name branding it with distinction. Next door Raven Used Books awaits an April 20 grand opening. The next door will be the performing arts center, since the city got a grant to help pay for it. They’re moving screens over from the movie theater around the corner so it will be similar to what was built in Amherst center.
Tonight we’ll go up to Greenfield and then turn right to the even more up and coming Turners Falls. Not only Burrito Rojo is new and exciting, well on Avenue A will soon be Holy Smokes Deli. Lou and Leslie have been posting on Facebook about their upcoming grand opening in May. Stay tuned for good eating!!
