Martha’s Vineyard & Mallorca
Two Islands In the Next Eleven Days, Both Places I Much Enjoy, the islands of Martha’s Vineyard, then Mallorca
I’m departing tonight for one of the two islands I will visit over the next few weeks. One is about two-thirds larger than the other, but the bigger one in Spain has been settled longer. I’ll be staying in Edgartown Martha’s Vineyard for three days, then taking the ferry and driving to Braintree, then busing up to Logan, and flying out of Boston. They now have a direct flight on United, Newark to Palma, the capital city of Mallorca.
I have been a regular traveler since I began my GoNOMAD journey in 2002, every year without exception I traveled monthly, somewhere to go, a story to write. Now I’ve been doing a lot of things that signal an end to my regular workdays, and a slimmed-down publishing load but I will still share my stories and my friend’s stories on GoNOMAD. Like this link which was to a post from my last trip to Palma in 2021.
One of the best things about Martha’s Vineyard is that it stays the same. You do the same fun things, and most of the time it’s about a comfortable routine, a pattern, and a gentle time to read, go to the beach, and most of all, see my beloved. I am very much looking forward to this.
In Palma I’m joining several podcasters and other travel writers and we are setting out to record episodes on Mallorca, meeting up with some interesting people and creating audio content. I’m excited about this as it was my idea that I pitched successfully to Spain’s tourism board and it’s come to fruition. Below are some of the places we will be visiting in Mallorca.
Swim bike is another fun activity, it will involve riding bikes that work with electric motors on water. It’s called Salty Cycling, and it looks like a blast!
We will visit a shop where they run a very old loom, called Teixits Vicens in Pollensa. I was in Palma in 2021 and I enjoyed the many narrow passageways in the Old Town and the many cafes you could so easily slide into. It felt very relaxed and safe and the seafood was fantastic wherever we went.
