Departing for Denver Thursday, for a Ski Train and Good Times
I head out the door tomorrow at the crack of dawn for an exciting trip to Denver Colorado. I’ve been fascinated with Denver after my last visit there in 2012. Back then I was hosted by my old friend Peter Heller, and he joined his wife Kim and showed me around.
Then I met up with a very interesting fellow named Johnny, whose last name I never learned. Johnny is a Denver transplant and lover of the city, at the time he ran a PR company called Drumbeat, located in The Hive, a co-working space filled with the kind of energy that young people with laptops bring.
Peter has just published a new novel called Celine, based on his lovely mother Caro who was my Godmother and favorite aunt before she passed away a few years ago.
I look forward to getting a signed copy at the city’s famed Tattered Cover Book Store this weekend.
This will be my first trip traveling with my good friend Bruce Northam, who I have been palling around with for decades, but with whom I have never taken a trip. We finally matched our schedules and voila, we’re heading out on a trip together.
We will be dining at a few stellar places, including Acorn, taking bikes around the city, and on Monday touring the US Mint where they make money. I’ll share it all right here!
