Friday Wrap up: Interesting Things Are Afoot
Revving up at the end of the week: Sometimes it takes me a whole week to feel in the groove, or that I’m getting much of anything done. I have the same thing happen to me at end of the day. At the close of business, I inevitably get a surge of energy, and dive into editing a story, or writing a proposal, just as the clock is ticking down to dinner preparation duties. So I find myself racing to finish whatever I have just started while I am running upstairs to start dinner.
I have so many different projects happening and upcoming travel that I’m happy about. I”m pitching a company in China who want to promote the island of Hainan, a beach resort that hangs down off the southern coast of the country. I’m talking with the Minister of Turkey about a trip that I think I’ll pass on, hard hiking for a week in the mountains of Turkey. But the most important thing is to be in the thick of everything–planning trips, planning ad campaigns, and managing two interns as well.
I was going to be teaching a class at GCC next week, and have been creating slides and honing my presentation, called “Tools to make Social Media work Better.” But alas, so far there are not enough sign-ups to make it a go. I saw several emails that the college sends out mentioning some of their classes, but mine was not included. So what the heck? Maybe I’ll be able to use these tips later in the year when they get enough students who sign up for the class.
