The Green River Festival has been on my calendar for many months. In fact, all throughout the year I make sure that whatever plans I have made for the summer don’t’ get in the way of attending both Saturday and Sunday July 12-13 so as not to miss any of this great event.

Have you bought your tickets yet? This year there are some new things that are making the festival even more fun. How about a chance to go swimming in the Green River? They’ll have busses from 2-6 pm and for $3 you can take the plunge, and then come back for more great music!

And beer. There will be a beer tent featuring my all-time favorite brews from Berkshire Brewing Co of Deerfield. What is better than a cold draught on a hot day listening to the great music in the sun?

This means, though, that you can’t bring your usual giant rolling cooler. In fact, coolers bigger than 16” wide wont’ be allowed. But that’s hardly a big problem, just bring the smaller one and some money to buy beer.

This year’s headliner is Josh Ritter, and there are many, many great bands on the docket like Trombone Shorty and Poor Old Shine and James Hunter. Here is the whole line up….get your tickets at www.greenriverfestival.com now, and see you on the lawn!
