Behavioral Targeting is The Way Out of the Blahs
An unexplained angst captured me mid-morning, I tried hard but was not clearly able to identify its source. Funny how sometimes dread can creep up and you don’t even know why. I do have a trip coming up in a week, and the regular routine is to worry about what I may not get done while I’m in the Azores and not here.
I solved the angst problem by throwing myself into our work, and now have two interns typing away on Dreamweaver, creating pages for our new TripAdvisor section and sowing the seeds for a whole new section of our site.
I’m on the phone with a guy who does behavioral marketing; it’s a strange gig: They pay websites like ours for referring traffic that they can identify to other sites and clicking. If somebody visits us and then visits them, bingo, drop a few coins in the hopper. After a few months it can add up!
There are so many complex ways in web publishing to earn revenue; I am always telling my friend JJ, he should focus on these but he loves travel so much he’s never home. Hey, my answer to that– Kent. He’s always up for a trip, today we’re planning an excursion to Valencia for our travel connoisseur.
