Back in the Apple, Setting Up Trips

I spent yesterday in New York City. I love the smell that wafts around you when you first hit the street. We parked in a Times Square lot and emerged to the heart of it all, Broadway. That scent hits you and you know you’re in the thick of it–where the action is.
The reason for NYC was a Travel Media show. This one produced grand results: Kent and I met with tourism board directors from all over Europe. I met with dozens of reps cheering for their home towns and asking us to visit. So my next few trips are settled: I’m off to Bilbao, Spain for a cooking and museum trip in mid November, and in early Dec I go to Belfast and some other cities in Northern Ireland. In early 2006 I’ll go to Norway and take a ship up to the Arctic Circle.

Going to shows like this is the way GoNOMAD keeps fresh and keeps good stories coming out. We run into many familiar faces; writers we have worked with, and tourism directors who’ve sent us on trips. At the end, we wore the hats given to us by the city of Kent, England to the cocktail reception. They want both Kent and me to come visit, and we probably will.
